Obituary of Anne Theresa Grogan-Cox

Anne entered into eternal life at her residence on Tuesday morning July 14, 2015. Anne Grogan-Cox (nee Klein) of Owen Sound and formerly of Sauble Beach in her 89th year. She was the daughter of the late George Klein and Elizabeth (Rieger) and step-daughter of the late Magdelena. She was predeceased by her husband John Joseph Grogan and her husband Joseph C.M. Cox. Anne's memory will be cherished by her children Mary Elizabeth Ritza (Michael Ritza), Patricia Anne Grogan (Jack Wetherall), Eileen Catherine Grogan (Michael LeBlanc), Sharon Louise Morrissey (John Morrissey) and Paul Edward Grogan (Simone Lee). Loving grandmother to Tamar Ritza Soltys (Brad Soltys), Katie Ritza (Rob Kemeny) and Aaron Ritza (Brandi Miller), Jared Grogan (Jennifer Kathen Grogan), Devin and Erika Herman and Clara, Patrick and Julia Morrissey. Great grandmother to Anna Louise Grogan, Jack Gordon Grogan and Nolan Joseph Soltys. Dear friend and step-mother to Joanne Cox (Franceen Blidner), Roxanne Cox (James Ouellette) and Charlene Ley (Randy Ley) and special grandmother to Ryan Ouellette, Kyle Ouellette (Brittany), Sean Ouellette and Bryson and Taylor Ley. Great grandmother to Carter Ouellette. Anne was the last surviving member of the Klein family. She was predeceased by her brother Bernard (Elizabeth), sister Julia (Bernard Hicke), sister Theresa (Frank Kambeitz), brothers George, Linus, Tony (Rose), the Rev. Kasper Klein, O.M.I. and sister Margaret (Wendel Laturnus). She is survived by sister-in-law Josephine Klein of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Kati Klein of Hamilton. Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be forever remembered and missed by her church family. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Owen Sound on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one half hour prior to service. Father James McSharry officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Sault Ste. Marie. Arrangements entrusted to the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth. Anne Grogan was awarded the Silver Medal of the Diocesan Order of Merit by the late Bishop Alexander Carter, Bishop of the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie in May, 1985. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Whittle for the exceptional care provided to Anne for 25 years as well as all the staff at G.B.H.S., C.C.A.C., Care Partners, Bayshore Nursing and at Seasons Retirement Community.
