KREUTZWEISER, William John Douglas surrounded by family at Country Lane Nursing Home, Chatsworth early Saturday evening February 21, 2015. Doug Kreutzweiser formerly of Southampton in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Dolores (nee Campbell) for 64 years. Loving father of Karen and her husband Burnie Gill of Port Elgin. Cherished grandfather of Brian (Carlie) Gill and Ashley Gill. Dear brother of Betty Ruth and her husband Ed of Hepworth and brother-in-law of June Kreutzweiser of Wiarton. Remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Allan, sister Helen Buckton and her husband Clarence 'Buck' and his parents William and Luvina (nee Huehn) Kreutzweiser. Besides a lifetime career as a plumber, electrician and business owner, Doug was also a very active community person. He was the Mayor of Southampton serving as County Warden in 1961, was Southampton's Fire Chief, as well as being on the School Board, a lifetime Mason member and a Rotary member receiving the Paul Harris Award. He will be missed. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A masonic service will be held Thursday at 6:45 p.m. Friends may call at the Tolmie Memorial Presbyterian Church, Port Elgin on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Chuck Moon officiating. Spring interment Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake. Expressions of remembrance to the Alzheimer Society (Research), Country Lane Nursing Home or Southampton Hospital would be appreciated.
