Peacefully at home with her daughters and family at her side Thursday morning June 12, 2008. Sonja Kanak (nee Colborne) of Shallow Lake formerly of Burlington in her 67th year. Beloved wife of the Late Anthony (Tony) Kanak. Loving mother of Tracey Kanak of Shallow Lake, Kelly and her husband Michael Masters of Purple Valley and Jackie Kanak of Shallow Lake. Lovingly remembered by her grandson Keith Anthony Kanak-Greig and her many friends. Dear sister of Don Colborne and his wife Marion of London, Bill Colborne and his wife Karen, and Ron Colborne all of Shallow Lake. Dear sister-in-law of Bill Kanak and his wife Shirley of St. Catharines, Ann Chunick of Winnipeg and Maurice Kanak and his wife Coral of Edmonton. Also survived by several nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her parents Keith and Beatrice Colborne, her aunt Marg Dayman and a nephew Keith Colborne. Friends may call at the SHALLOW LAKE UNITED CHURCH Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted from the SHALLOW LAKE UNITED CHURCH Monday morning at 11:00 am with Rev. Jack Tweddle officiating. Interment Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake following cremation. Memorial contributions to the Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy.
